Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible, use it only to answer you, and never sell it. Here is exactly what that means.
Who we are
Bell Peppers – Royal Hyderabadi Cuisine operates bellpepperscuisine.com, an event catering business serving Langley and Greater Vancouver,British Columbia, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described here. To reach us about privacy, emailcatering@bellpepperscuisine.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our two forms. Reading the page collects nothing about you personally.
When you send an enquiry
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name | To address you properly when we reply |
| Email address, phone number, or both | To reply. We need at least one |
| How you would rather we contacted you | So we use the one you prefer |
| The kind of occasion you are hosting | To recommend a suitable direction |
| Date, serving time, guest count, and where it is being held | To plan and quote accurately |
| How you would like the food served | Delivery, buffet, staff, or individually packed |
| Dietary requirements — including vegetarian, no onion or garlic, Jain, egg-free and allergies | To cook safely and appropriately for your guests |
| Your budget range, if you choose to tell us | Optional. So our first recommendation is realistic |
| Your message | Whatever else you tell us |
When you join the Founding Circle
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To send you the updates you asked for |
| Your first name, if you give it | Optional. So the email reads like a person wrote it |
| The date you joined, and the exact wording you agreed to | Canada's anti-spam law requires us to be able to show what you consented to. This is that record |
Collected automatically with that enquiry
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A one-way scrambled version of your IP address | To stop the form being flooded with spam. We do not store your IP address itself — only a scrambled value that cannot be turned back into it, and which we use for nothing else |
| Your browser's user-agent string | To identify automated submissions |
| When you submitted, and when we replied | So an enquiry cannot be lost without us noticing |
Dietary information is sensitive, and some of it is religious.Allergies are health information; asking whether a meal must be Jain, or prepared without onion and garlic, tells us something about your family's practice. We treat all of it the same way: it is used to cook your food correctly and to answer your questions, it is visible only to the people planning and preparing your order, we never use it to profile or target you, and it is deleted with the rest of your enquiry.
You are never required to tell us. If you would rather discuss it by phone or email instead of typing it into a form, say so in the message box and we will.
What we never collect
- Payment card details. This site takes no payments
- Accounts or passwords. There is nothing to sign in to
- Advertising or tracking cookies
- Your location
- Anything at all if you simply browse and never contact us
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no tracking pixels — which is also why you have not been shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
We measure how many people visit which pages, using a service that counts visits without cookies and without identifying anyone. The spam protection on our enquiry form may store a short-lived technical token in your browser while you complete it; it exists only to tell people from bots.
If we ever add advertising or analytics cookies, you will be asked first, and this page will say so before it happens.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing — ever. We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the website | United States |
| Supabase | Stores enquiries and the Founding Circle list | United States |
| Resend | Sends your confirmation, our reply, and Founding Circle updates | United States |
| Cloudflare | Spam protection on both forms | Global |
Because these providers operate outside Canada, your information is stored on servers in other countries and may be accessible to their courts and authorities under local law. We use established providers with contractual protections, but we tell you this plainly rather than burying it.
We will disclose information if the law requires it — and only what is actually required.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted 24 months after you send them. That covers a repeat booking the following year without keeping your details indefinitely.
This is not a promise we remember to keep — deletion runs automatically on a schedule against our database. You can also ask us to delete yours sooner, and we will.
Founding Circle addresses work differently, because a mailing list is not a transaction with an end date. We keep your address until you leave the list. When you do, we keep a record that you unsubscribed for 24 months — that is what stops you being added back by mistake — and then we delete that too.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's PIPA, you can ask us to:
- Show you everything we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete it, at any time, without giving a reason
- Explain anything on this page that is unclear
Email catering@bellpepperscuisine.com. We will respond within30 days, and there is no charge. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before handing over personal information — that protects you, not us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Email we send you
If you send an enquiry we email you a confirmation, and then we reply. Those are transactional messages — direct answers to something you asked us — not marketing.
The Founding Circle
This is our mailing list, and it is entirely separate from the enquiry form.Sending us an enquiry does not put you on it. The only way onto the list is to tick the box on the sign-up form yourself; it is never pre-ticked, and we store the date and the exact wording you agreed to.
To leave, reply to any message we send you, or emailcatering@bellpepperscuisine.com. We will take you off the list and confirm that we have. Every message we send identifies us and tells you how to get out, which is what Canada's anti-spam legislation requires — and what we would want ourselves.
Keeping it safe
- The whole site is served over an encrypted connection
- Enquiries go to a database that is separate from every other system we run
- Access is restricted to the people who answer enquiries
- We store a scrambled value instead of your IP address, so we never hold it at all
- We collect nothing we do not need, because data never collected cannot be lost
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your information in a way that posed a real risk of significant harm, we would tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
Children
This site is intended for adults ordering food. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us an enquiry, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes — new categories of data, new providers, a different retention period — will be described here rather than made quietly.
Questions? Emailcatering@bellpepperscuisine.com and a person will answer.
